Avoid the traffic jams of the inner city show and relax at the Mindarie Marina. Make sure you get in early to reserve your prime position for the big bang! | | | | | FEBRUARY | | | | | | Date: | 17 Feb | | Event: | Rottnest Channel Swim | | Location | Cottesloe Beach | | The world's largest open water swim, 2,300 competitors swim from the beach at Cottesloe to Rottnest Island. A total of 19kms! Swimmers can compete solo or in relay teams or 2 or 4. Every entry must have a boat and a paddler alongside the swimmer at all times. The race starts at the crack of dawn and is an amazing event to watch from the beach at Cottesloe. | | | | | MARCH | | | | | | Date: | 8 - 18 Mar at dawn till dusk | | Event: | Sculptures by the Sea | | Location: | Cottesloe Beach | | An amazing event that showcases local and interstate artists - sculptures are positioned along the beach and grass areas of Cottesloe for all to observe and admire. We are looking forward to welcoming our surf lifesaving friends to Western Australia for some exciting competition, plenty of first-class hospitality and lots of fun. There's no better beach for staging the Aussies than Scarborough Beach. The different conditions are likely to bring out the best in all competitors and take the competition to a new level. You will be amazed at the sunsets over the Indian Ocean at the end of each day's competition. Perth city, Fremantle and the beachside suburbs are within easy reach of each other. These precincts come alive in the evenings and you'll get to experience some of Australia's finest restaurants, cafes and watering holes.
